Hi,
I am already dreading the day when programs for my WM phone + PDA have to be bought via an online store run and directed by Microsoft, who would the be dictating what gets sold, at what price and what I can run on my device. I'd rather things stay as they are. I have been using WM PDAs/phones for over five years now, and once I found the first piece of software not originally included on my device (SBSH PocketBreeze) I got hooked, and I've bought many, many of them. Some directly from the developers' sites, most via online distibutors. I was not aware that developers only got a small share of the money as you described but on the other hand I actually don't believe that ESDs here in Germany (such as pocketland.de) are as greedy as their counterparts in the US.
Anyway, if there should come the day when the only way to buy software is via the MS marketplace I'll go back to pen and paper.
